Water Festivals - Delivering Effective Water Education

We all need water for so many uses and as the human population grows, the quantity of water we all need increases, too. But the quantity of water we have on our planet is not increasing so that means there will be difficult choices to be made.

All of us who have worked to make Water Festivals possible are convinced that a Festival is an effective way to deliver water education. We’d would like to share what we have learned with folks in other communities and regions who may be facing similar challenges and might be considering a Water Festival to educate their young people.

Why a Water Festival?

  • A Water Festival brings students together to spend a day learning about water
  • A Water Festival is a catalyst to encourage continuing water education
  • Students learn that water is an essential, limited resource and that they can take action
  • Teachers receive an array of teaching materials and activity ideas for their classrooms
  • Sponsors and supporters become involved with and aware of water education
